Guest blogging is one way to dramatically improve your online presence.
Guest Post presents the ideal opportunity to increase traffic, acquire new users, and raise awareness about your brand.
Is Guest posting is a great way to build domain authority, increase organic traffic, and rank up in search engine results. This strategy will help you dramatically increase your online visibility by combining it with other factors like great writing opportunities, greater outreach, new audiences, and more credibility.
The writer’s side is what was just mentioned. What about those who work with the writers to create their blogs? What are they able to gain from guest posts?
Here are some of the many benefits to hosting guest posts on your blog. They could help you achieve extraordinary results.
How to assess guest blogging opportunities
The process of finding the right sites is just one step. It is only one part of the equation. You must decide if these sites are worth your time and if they will help you achieve your goals for guest blogging.
These are the areas you should assess. To get started, choose one of these sites.
To check the domain authority of the site you are interested in, first use Moz’s Open Site Explorer. This will tell you how well the site is regarded online and whether it will offer good value in terms traffic and links if you guest-post there. As an example, here’s a report on the domain authority for Content Marketing Institute.
The better the number (it’s on an 0 to 100 scale), the higher it is. Moz does not define what constitutes a good domain authority, but SmartInsights created a chart that shows the average domain authority across different industries.
You should check for social followers and email subscribers. These numbers are usually published by site owners if they are large enough. This will give you an idea about the size of your potential audience.
If you don’t have any social followers, go to their profiles on social media and check if they have an audience. Also, see if they promote any content on their site (including guest posts). This should be possible if you look back at a month worth of content.

Alexa can be used to monitor site traffic for the past few months. Simply type your URL in the box at the top of the page and you will get a quick overview on key traffic metrics.
This will give you an idea of how many people might see your guest post and where the majority of the site’s visitors are located. If the majority of traffic to the site is from the UK and your goal is to reach US prospects, this might not be a good fit for guest posting strategies.
Next, take a look at the posts. Check to see if the published content is relevant to the topics you are interested in writing about. You don’t have to worry about low comments numbers. This is true for many websites these days. Even if your social shares aren’t high, sites that reach your target audience can still help with your goals.
To ensure you get credit for guest posts and to send readers back to your site (as in the example from the OptinMonster Blog), make sure to check the author bios.
Later in this guide, we’ll be discussing how to create great guest blogging bios.
Three ways guest posting can help you grow your online audience
Today, I write guest posts like a madman. In fact, I have written more guest posts in six years of blogging. It’s a time-consuming investment, not only because of my commitment to posting regularly on this blog. Why bother?
Guest posting is my favorite strategy to grow your blog’s readership and platform. Let me explain…
What is guest posting?
Let’s start by defining our terms. “Guest posting” refers to writing and publishing articles on another’s blog or website.
This is something I do on my site, but it’s not always. I also do it on other blogs that have the right audience. This is a great way for you to meet new readers and get your name out there.
For the longest time, however, I neglected this crucial discipline in growing a popular blog. I regret it. I don’t think so.
Free download: I started guest posting and gained over 10,000 subscribers within 18 months. To show you how, I have created a few videos and a downloadable ebook. You can download them by clicking here.
Three reasons guest posting is so important for bloggers to grow their online influence are:
Guest posting helps build relationships
Bloggers need quality content. You can build relationships with other bloggers by being a guest blogger and adding value on another’s blog.
A large portion of online conversations are dominated by bloggers, particularly on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. They can have a tremendous influence. They are great friends.
You can make friends with other bloggers by guest posting. This will help you grow your influence on social media and ultimately increase your blog subscribers.
Search engines love guest posting.
This is the one thing you must have in order to guest-post.
A link to your blog must be included in the post by the host blogger (usually at either the beginning or the end).
These backlinks will increase the value of your site to search engines over time. This will make your content more easily found via Google, Yahoo!, Bing and other search engines.
Guest posting is a way to meet new people
The best thing about guest posting is the ability to connect with established communities and share your message. You can make connections with people who are interested in your message, and this can be a great way to get help if done correctly.
You’ll see more people, followers, and fans if you add value to the conversation. If you only ask or sell, you might end up with a bad reputation. You don’t want “that guy” to promote his agenda.
Contribute to the improvement of lives. Help others. Be patient. You’ll win over time.
How about guest posting on your site?
I also like to allow other people to guest-post on my site from time to time. If you haven’t, it is worth considering guest posting.
This is a good idea if you are asking for guest posts on other blogs. This allows you to have a mutually beneficial relationship with the blogger host.
Bloggers will often blog about guest posts and link to them from their blogs, giving you great link juice. This is a great practice for me personally.
- Being a good host is the first rule
- If I am asked to guest post for another person, I do these:
- Link to my post
- It can be promoted on Twitter (multiple times).
- Thanks for being there
- Stay on top of the comments and leave a reply
Although not everyone does it, it is a good idea. This is important. If you are forced to choose between having people guest post on your website or elsewhere, go with the latter. It is always better to be known in new communities.
Guest posting is a matter of course
Mike, the Search Engine Guru is my friend. He says that guest posting on other websites is five times more valuable than creating new content on his site. As long as you have the backlink.
I don’t care if that’s true or false. (Mike isn’t an impractical guy so it could be. This is a great strategy to increase your online visibility and boost your reputation.
This is also a great way to get your writing published in magazines and news sites.
You don’t have to be unhappy with your blog traffic if you’re not posting on other blogs. Get started with guest posting and watch your influence grow.
There is a decreased desire to produce content
You may have experienced a writer’s block if you are the sole writer on your blog. This can make you want to pull your hair out of stress, because your creativity has let you down just when you need it most.
Guest posts are a great way to save the day!
You can not only get the job done faster, but you will also save time trying to write about a specific topic. While you will need to proofread and adjust, it is much easier to fix something from a guest blog post than to attempt to write your own.
Incorporating a new community
A new generation of visitors will also be introduced to your blog along with new content.
You have the same goal for your writer: getting as much attention as possible. So you can be certain that they will share all of their work with their audience, guest posts and not. This means that your guest post link will be shared more widely than those of other non-guest posts. It will also give your blog more exposure.
Everything gets doubled when you share social media posts, emails, mentions in forums, and online communities. You might even make more money by increasing those numbers.
Mix it up with other content
Each content creator has a unique style for writing and expressing their thoughts. This style is known by the audience.
A signature style is usually a good thing. It is what gets people to sign up for your newsletter and follow you on social media. Sometimes, however, it is worth taking a breath of fresh air. Your audience will appreciate fresh air.
You might feel bored by repetitive phrases and ideas that are repeated over and over. Guest posts can be a great way to introduce new ideas and a fresh approach to digital storytelling. This right there can be a saving grace or a boost of inspiration for you and your readers.
Credibility – Increased
More than 60% of readers agree that blogs with multiple writers give off a feeling of credibility. This makes them more trustworthy and appealing.
Guest authors show that you are serious about business with your talented writers who know how to create quality content. This leverage can increase your traffic and search engine visibility. It will also encourage you to post more often, which will lead to a faster expansion of your blog.
Here are some tips to get the most from your guest posts
All of the benefits we have mentioned were those of guest authors. But how do you ensure guest posts are being used in the best way possible? These are our top four tips to maximize the value of guest posting.
1. Promote the content
Digital success is all about content promotion. Just like you would promote your own content, so should guest posts. Your writers will depend on it!
Guest authors who are well-respected could be motivated to return to your site again. They can rest assured that their content will be shared on the internet, which will give them some exposure.
2. Give your authors the credit they deserve – an author box
There are many blogs offering guest posting opportunities. If you want to stand out and attract the best content writers, then you need to prove your worth.
How do you do this? You can give credit where credit is due and each author has their own author box.
It is not enough to include the author’s name, as it only tells the reader very little. An author box, on the other hand looks more professional and gives the reader all the information they need.
3. Set clear expectations
There are many guest writers who have offers to make so they won’t waste their time. They will reach out to everyone who doesn’t have all the guidelines for guest posts.
This is why you should follow the example and create a note/guideline page with clear instructions about your expectations.
This page/note should contain instructions on the topics that the author should cover, how long the article should be, what post type to use, whether images should be included, and a clear message that only authentic and original content is desired.
4. Be seen on the Market
You can find many guest writers available on the market, but it won’t be simple if you don’t spread that information.
You can simply reach out and offer the job opportunity to any writer you like. Or, even better, use social media to advertise it and include it in your newsletter.
You will reach not only the writers you have in mind but also possibly better ones that you didn’t know existed.
Consider all the benefits that guest posting can bring to your blog. It is one of the best choices you can make.
You must be cautious with guest posts, as with all things online. You should carefully proofread each document you receive, ensure quality control and create a business plan for working with writers.
Establish the ground rules and install the appropriate plugins. Use guest posts to open up new chapters in your digital success.
Guest post are worth it for all the traffic, credibility, new users, and fresh ideas that will start coming to your blog.
